 Compatibility

The DICOM specification defines many different image formats, which can be used to encode image data in a DICOM file. Many formats are used only by very few applications and machines and fortunatly about 95% of the main applications in hospitals and clinics, exspecially CT, MRT and X-Ray machines, use a standard monochrome or RGB format as supported for example by MVE (Medical Volume Explorer).

These standard formats are supported by DICOM TOOLS for DELPHI and are listed below:
- 8 bit, inverted monochrome values (monochrome1), no compression, signed,
- 8 bit, not inverted monochrome values (monochrome2), no compression, signed,
- 8 bit, inverted monochrome values (monochrome1), no compression, unsigned,
- 8 bit, not inverted monochrome values (monochrome2), no compression, unsigned,
- 16 bit, inverted monochrome values (monochrome1), no compression, signed,
- 16 bit, not inverted monochrome values (monochrome2), no compression, signed,
- 16 bit, inverted monochrome values (monochrome1), no compression, unsigned,
- 16 bit, not inverted monochrome values (monochrome2), no compression, unsigned,
- 24 bit, RGB, no compression, unsigned.

Please make sure before ordering, that your format is supported by checking the sample programs, which are free available for download.

If your DICOM format is not supported, please send an email.
